Our Response to Covid-19

It is our duty at Wa Ale to provide our guests peace of mind when staying with us in the upcoming 2020-21 season. As a small luxury resort, Wa Ale will implement stringent cleaning procedures and consistently encourage social distancing in our intimate environment.

  • What is your Cancellation Policy in response to Covid-19?

    We have updated our reservation policy at Wa Ale Resort so you can book with confidence and feel comfortable with your travel plans in these uncertain times. Our revised cancellation policy includes greater flexibility should your plans change. This policy applies to reservations made for the 2020-21 season.

    • More than 4 weeks notice – Deposit refunded
    • Less than 4 weeks notice – 25% of total reservation fee
    • Less than 3 weeks notice – 50% of total reservation fee
    • Less than 2 weeks notice – 75% of total reservation fee
    • Less than 1 week notice – Full reservation fee
    • If there are government-imposed travel restrictions or if one contracts Covid-19 prior to arrival, payment will be refunded 100%
  • Is it safe to visit Wa Ale Resort?

    We believe that Wa Ale Resort is one of the safest places to be. Our remote destination on a nature preserve has a limited number of villas and bungalows with a maximum occupancy of 28 guests at any one time.

  • Has Wa Ale Resort had any Covid-19 cases?

    We continue to be Covid-19 free at Wa Ale. None of our guests or staff have been infected and our staff are tested prior to arrival on island.

  • Is there a doctor on island?

    We have a full-time medic on staff and a part-time UK general practitioner who practices at the resort.

  • What precautionary measures will be in place in the 2020-21 season?

    All staff members will be screened for Covid-19 and quarantined for 14 days prior to returning to the resort. Upon approval, all staff will be provided enhanced sanitary training and Covid-19 transmission education. We will ensure that Wa Ale continues to be a safe haven and our team stays vigilant in keeping our resort Covid free. Social distancing will be implemented at the resort as an added step of security for our guests.

  • Will all activities be available in the new season?

    Wa Ale will be fully operational starting November 1, 2020 with added safety measures in place for all activities. Most activities at Wa Ale are private and led by one Wa Ale staff member.
