Wa Ale was born out of their love for a country, its people and its unspoiled paradise.
Wa Ale was born out of their love for a country, its people and its unspoiled paradise.
Their dream: the first luxury eco-resort to open in Myanmar’s untouched Myeik Archipelago to the world; it is a haute-bohemian utopia that all began with a couple’s spirit of adventure and heart of purpose. Wa Ale, offering the epitome of luxury and comfort without impacting the environment in any way; not a single tree removed.

The Heart of Wa Ale
The Heart of Wa Ale
At the heart of Wa Ale’s creation and success are two remarkable people: Aung Zin Latt and Zin Mar Twe. As husband and wife, their commitment to the island runs deep. Aung Zin Latt, now General Manager, helped build the resort alongside founder Christopher Kingsley, turning a shared vision into reality through hard work and determination.
Zin Mar Twe, our Kawthaung Operations Manager, plays an equally important role, managing the complex logistics of a remote island resort with quiet strength and grace. Together, Aung and Zin Mar are more than part of Wa Ale’s story - they are its soul.
